Abstract Actinomyces europaeus is a sub-species of actinomyces first isolated in humans 1997. It commensal bacteria found within the genitourinary and gastrointestinal tract. Although it known to cause soft tissue infection has been abscesses, never identified as primary pathogen case necrotizing fasciitis. We present 59-year-old man with recurrent groin infections, poorly controlled Type 2 diabetes obesity who developed fasciitis his lower abdominal wall secondary europaeus. discuss clinical course value early identification specialist microbiologist advice.
